the tipping point... another place at the table
Ok so I mentioned in my first post that I have always had on my heart the tug to foster and or adopt, right?
Well here is what just tipped me over the edge and made me jump in with both feet and not look back. While on a quick random getaway to clear my mind of some crap going on in my life to Florida back in February I was driving to the beach. For those of you who don't know me may not know my LOVE for thrift stores so I was driving to Clearwater Beach and saw a thrift store and did a U-turn and among the books this one jumped off the shelf at me, I only saw the title and pulled it out and read the back and knew that God has placed me here for a reason; to find this book. Spent the day reading and crying.
I will say if you even little bit think you might want to foster or adopt, you should pick this book up! Its written by Kathy Harrison and its a memoir of her journey as a foster parent. The broken little lives she had a chance to love and care for reached deep in my heart and I said when I get home I NEED to figure out how to get started with this even if I am single and don't have my own kids (enter in last post about the lies I was believing before). I got home and dove in head first! Here's to a new journey!
