training week one

February 25th, 2016
Prior to week one I was beginning to question my ability to do this crazy thing as a single woman. I kept trying to make excuses why I should wait and shouldn't do it right now. I was telling myself that no one will support a single Christian woman who wants to try fostering to adopt. Boy was I WRONG!

That first night of class was pure joy! Cindy was the co-trainer for the week; we have our licensing worker (Kris) and a foster parent as trainers each week so the licensing worker can say here's how it goes and should be and the foster parent can say but in reality it looks like this. Cindy was wonderful! She was the most beautiful Jesus loving woman I have met and guess what guys... She works full time, is single never been married and is a momma to two beautiful little girls she is in the process of fostering to adopt! Wow talk about God ordaining and redeeming my heart and trust that it can be done and I can do it with his help and people will support me! And then the outpour of support I got from friends and family when I posted that I had began my train was unbelievable! Thank you, thank you, thank you to those of you who are my cheerleaders and to God who uses you and people like Cindy to keep me moving forward!

The very next morning I got a text from my licensing worker asking how class was for me and telling me I will do great then reminded me of a scripture Romans 12:1-2 “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him"

Now can you see why even early on in this process I am so thankful I opted for the private Christian agency? I may have called it quits because of my doubt if it wasn't for God using Cindy and Kris in my life that week!
